Save our Supplements - Act Now!3/9/2010 To all advocates wanting to preserve your access to Dietary Supplements:
On February 4, 2010, Senators John McCain and Byron Dorgan introduced the “Dietary Supplement Safety Act, S 3002.” Among other provisions the McCain bill requires ALL dietary supplements to go through a brand new – yet to be determined - government review process to remain on the market; requires reporting of ALL (trivial) adverse events, and requires retailers to register with the government with increased paperwork and potential liability.
If this bill becomes law, your health care choices would be drastically reduced and many of the supplements available today could become illegal. This misguided legislation affects ALL dietary supplements, including vitamins, minerals, herbs, sports, and diet products.
